Mother: You will be free.  You can wear whatever you want.  No one is going to hurt you for reading.  Or tell you what to think, or who to love.  Or what to believe in.  You don’t have to be a wife.  Or mother if you don’t want to!

Girl: So, who can I be?

(Part of the conversation between mother and daughter in the Movie “The handmaid’s tale”)

Last week on Friday 16/09/2022, a girl in Iran was killed by the “Morality Police” because her hijab was not worn in a correct and complete fashion, in their opinion. She was being herself, but the cost of being herself was to lose her life. Since Friday, the streets of Iran are full of women, girls and men who are fighting for freedom.  Listen, can you hear them screaming? 

Woman, life, freedom.  Woman, life, freedom.  This is their motto. 

Girls in that part of the world, who maybe you had not even heard of until a few days ago, have started to cut their hair and shave their head.  They want to show the depth of pain and sadness inside them. They need our help. They want us to support them. It may be a little difficult for you to understand how it can be possible that in 2022 a girl died because of her hijab. But I was born in that land. I also experienced these fears.  My sisters and I got weak in the knees every time we saw the “Morality Police”.  We also got a cold sweat from fear on our bodies. Do you know why?  Because our crime was twofold.  We were refugees in that country, and we did not dress according to their wishes. 

Now I want to be their voice on this side of the world.  Their voice is the voice of freedom. The voice of equality and human rights.  I stand with them. Even if I choose to wear a hijab on my head, I stand by their right not to wear one.  I stand not only with them but with all those who fight for equal rights.  These rights can be the right to abortion in America, the fight for not accepting police officers in Greek universities, or the fight for the right to education for Afghan girls.

I am a woman who was born in Iran, in an Afghan family.  My parents taught me the right to choose. In my family I am the only daughter who wears a hijab because I choose to wear it, my choice, there is no sense of pressure on that subject for us.

There is an opposite of course…. Let’s not forget in 2022 in Europe and the USA, we still have Muslim Women who aren’t allowed to wear their hijab or face discrimination because they wear them. So, let’s stand by each other’s side and hand to hand fight for equality and human rights.

We women are the ones who can bring positive change in our societies. We are the ones giving birth to men and we should teach our children to respect human rights and be the voice of the voiceless regardless of religion, race, nationality.

We will be free……

ما آزاد خواهیم شد

مادر: آزاد می شوی . می توانی هر آنچه که دوست داری بر تن کنی. هیچکس به خاطر مطالعه کردن به تو آسیب نخواهد زد. به تو نمی گویند که به چه چیزی فکر کنی ، یا به چه کسی عشق بورزی . یا به چه چیزی اعتقاد داشته باشی . اصلا لازم نیست همسر کسی باشی. یا مادر، اگر دلت نمی خواهد !

دختر: پس چه کسی می توانم باشم؟

مادر: خودت!

بخشی از مکالمه مادر و دختر در سریال داستان یک خدمتکار.

هفته گذشته روز جمعه ۱۶/۰۹/۲۰۲۲ دختری در ایران توسط گشت ارشاد کشته شد بدلیل اینکه حجابش از نظر آنها صحیح و کامل نبود. او خودش بود اما بهای خودش بودن، گرفتن جانش بود . از روز جمعه بدین سو خیابان های ایران مملو از زنان و دختران و مردانی است که برای آزادی می جنگند . کمی گوش دهید، صدای فریادشان را می شنوید؟ زن ، زندگی ، آزادی . زن ، زندگی، آزادی . این شعار آنهاست. دخترانی در آن سر دنیا که شاید تو حتی تا همین چند روز پیش نامش را هم نشنیده بودی، شروع به کوتاه کردن و تراشیدن موهای خود کرده اند . می خواهند عمق درد و غم درونشان را نشان دهند. آنها به کمک ما نیاز دارند . آنها از ما میخواهند که صدایشان باشیم . شاید درکش برای تو کمی سخت باشد. اما من زاده آن سرزمینم. من هم این ترس‌ها را تجربه کردم . من و خواهرانم هم هر زمانی که گشت ارشاد را دیدیم ، زانوهایمان سست شد . ما هم عرق سرد حاصل از ترس بر بدن هایمان نشست. می دانی چرا ؟ چون جرم ما دو برابر بود . ما هم مهاجر بودیم در آن کشور و هم مطابق میل آنها لباس نپوشیده بودیم. حالا من در این سوی دنیا می خواهم صدای آنها باشم. صدای آنها بودن صدای آزادی است . صدای آنها بودن صدای برابری و حقوق بشر است . صدای آنها بودن صدای انتخاب آزادانه نوع پوشش است. با آنها تمام قد ایستاده‌ام. تمام قد ایستاده‌ام با حجابی بر سر. نه تنها با آنها بلکه با تمام کسانی که برای حقوق برابر مبارزه می کنند . این حقوق برابر می تواند داشتن حق سقط جنین در آمریکا باشد، مبارزه برای حضور نداشتن افسران پلیس در دانشگاه‌های یونان و یا مبارزه برای حق تحصیل برای دختران افغانستان . من دختری متولد شده در ایران در خانواده ای افغان هستم . پدر و مادری مرا بزرگ کرده اند ، که حق انتخاب را برایم یاد داده اند. در خانواده ای زندگی می کنم که من تنها دختر محجبه آن هستم زیرا این انتخاب من است اما اجبار برایمان معنا ندارد. اما فراموش نکنیم که در همین اروپا و آمریکا هستند زنان محجبه ای که در بعضی موارد حق داشتن حجاب به آنها داده نمی شود یا با تبعیض روبرو هستند . پس بیایید در کنار یکدیگر باشیم و دست در دست هم برای برابری و حقوق بشر مبارزه کنیم . و فراموش نکنیم که این ما زن‌ها هستیم که می توانیم آغازگر تغییرات مثبت در یک جامعه باشیم . از وجود ماست که مرد متولد می شود . بیایید به فرزندانمان برابری را بیاموزیم و به آنها یاد دهیم که صدای بیصدایان باشند بدون در نظر گرفتن دین ، ملیت ، نژاد و ….

ما آزاد خواهیم شد ….

Today, December 10, coincides with International Human Rights Day. There have been many announcements and conferences around the world about the International Human Rights Day but, unfortunately, these events have more of a publicity aspect and their impact in practice is very small.

In many cases, like Afghanistan for example, it is the opposite. In previous years, human rights in Afghanistan were poorly respected, but now, with the Taliban taking power, these rights have been completely abolished. However, in more developed countries, human rights for refugees are also partially respected.

The first principle of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states: “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. But as an Afghan refugee who has lived in Iran, Turkey and Greece, I say that regarding human rights there is very little  room for refugees in these countries.

Article 5 of the Declaration states: “No one shall be subjected to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment”. In Iran, however, Afghan refugees are treated contrary to this principle. Article 26 of the Declaration states: “Everyone has the right to education”. But our children in Greece are facing great difficulties in attending school.

Freedom and equality for everyone despite their colour, race and gender, the right to freedom of thought, the right to freedom of expression and the right to choose one’s religion, according to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, are the rights extended to all human beings. The bombings in Afghanistan are more about one religion and one race, and they want everything that deviates from this view to be completely destroyed.

Basic rights, housing, health insurance, the right to education are poorly respected in Greece and in the camps. On the islands, refugees still live in tents. At this time when we are all fatigued by the pandemic and want to get rid of the virus as soon as possible in order to return to normal life, there are still refugees who do not have an insurance number and can not be vaccinated. There are still refugees who live in confined spaces by the dozens, not being able to hold social distancing solely because it is not feasible.

استدلال اشتباه حقوق بشر

امروز 10دسامبر مصادف با روز جهانی حقوق بشر در جهان است. روزی که در جهان اعلامیه ها و همایشهای متعددی درباره روز جهانی حقوق بشر اعلام و برگزار می شود و با کمال تأسف باید گفت که این اعلامیه ها و همایشها بیشتر جنبه تبلیغاتی داشته و تأثیر آنها در عمل ،بسیار ناچیز و یا در بسیاری از موارد مانند افغانستان، خلاف آن است. سالهای گذشته در افغانستان حقوق بشر به صورت ناچیز رعایت می شد ولی در حال حاضر با بدست گرفتن قدرت توسط طالبان این حق و حقوق کاملا از بین رفته است. در کشورهای پیشرفته تر نسبت به افغانستان هم حقوق بشر برای پناهندها به صورت جزئی رعایت می شود. نخستین اصل اعلامیه جهانی حقوق بشر سازمان ملل متحد میگوید: تمام انسانها آزاد زاده می شوند و از لحاظ ارزش و حقوق باهم برابرند.اما من ب عنوان یک پناهنده افغانستانی که در کشورهای ایران،ترکیه و یونان زندگی کردم،  می گویم که حقوق بشر به صورت ناچیز و جزئی در این کشورها برای پناهندها رعایت می شود. در اصل پنجم اعلامیه می گوید:هیچکس نباید تحت رفتار ظالمانه،غیر انسانی و یا تحقیر آمیز قرار بگیرد.اما در ایران برخلاف این اصل با پناهندهای افغانستانی رفتار می شود. در اصل26 اعلامیه می گوید:هر شخصی حق دارد از آموزش و پرورش بهره مند شود.ولی کودکان ما در کشور یونان با سختیهای بسیار زیادی برای درس خواندن مواجه هستند. آزادی و برابری از هر رنگ،نژاد و جنسیت،حق آزادی اندیشه،حق آزادی بیان و حق انتخاب مذهب،براساس اعلامیه حقوق بشر حق همه انسانهاست.در صورتی که از نظر طالبان در افغانستان این گونه نیست و هیچ برابری وجود ندارد.انتحاری و بمب گذاری ها در افغانستان بیشتر مخصوص یک مذهب و یک نژاد است و می خواهند آن مذهب در آنجا کاملا از بین برود. حقوق اولیه،مسکن،بیمه درمانی،حق آموزش و پرورش در یونان و کمپها به صورت ناچیز رعایت می شود.در جزیره ها پناهنده ها در چادرهای مسافرتی زندگی می کنند.برای درمان بیماریهایشان هیچ کار خاصی نمی‌کنند و تنها چیزی که میگویند این است ک کاری از دست ما برنمیاید. در این دوره ای ک همه از ویروس کرونا خسته شده ایم و دلمان میخواهد که هر چ زودتر این ویروس نابود شود و ب زندگی عادی برگردیم، هستند پناهنده هایی که حق بیمه ندارند و نمی‌توانند واکسن بزنند. ب نظر شما آیا حقوق بشر در جهان رعایت می شود؟

I’m a woman. The one who after twenty years of running, trying, listening to sarcasm and insults, has reached a stage where I could take steps forward, but suddenly the enemy re-appeared.

I am the one who wanted to make my country prosperous. I am the one who studied by candlelight in the black-out nights of Kabul. Yes, I am the one who the Taliban started searching for, house to house, door to door. I am the one who crawled in a corner of the house and waited. Maybe I’m waiting for a miracle. I’m waiting to open the door for them every time I hear a knock on my door. I have imagined these scenes in my mind many times,…what would I say or do if I open that door. I have more than often imagined slapping them in the face. Or tell them about the hardships I have endured to this day and imagine them drinking their tea and listening to me. Sometimes I think they take me by my hair and drag me from one street to another. To provide a lesson to the others. Another one of my mental pictures was that I was married to one of them, but I was able to change his mindset and turn him into a man who is a defender of women and human rights. I do not know what to do but I am sure that I will not escape from them. I am positive that I will shout at them and will not bow down in front of them. Maybe they‘ll silence my voice from the first shout. Everything is unclear and it is my disturbed mind that weaves these fantasies. I have been hoping for the progress of Afghanistan (my motherland) for many years., And everything you read above was born of my mind. The mind of a girl who was born to Afghan parents but has never seen or lived in Afghanistan.

Yes, these are the creations of Mahdia’s mind. Situations that I imagined in fleeting moments, instead of the reality of the girl who now lives in Afghanistan. Faces. Fear has taken over a corner of my heart. I have curled up in the corner of the bed, holding my knees in my arms, and an imperceptible tremor has taken over my whole being. What have these savages done to us even now that I am miles away from them? Just by reading the news, fear and panic penetrate my soul. What have they done to my mother who, after dozens of deportations, is still in a state of fear, as she contacts me now and asks me not to write about the Taliban and their savagery when she is miles away from Afghanistan and still afraid?

This fear has been with her for years. What have they done to our women and girls? We all know that the world of politics is not a straightforward and reliable world. Everything is written like a movie before its script. How can these strange men, as if they have come out of the Stone Age and thrown into Afghanistan these last few decades, managed to dominate the country? Men with guns who, like children, enjoy an afternoon in the amusement park or kick the ground out of joy when they see the gym. Who are they and where were they raised and educated?

من یک زن هستم. همان که بعد از بیست سال دویدن و تلاش کردن و طعنه و توهین شنیدن به مرحله ای رسیده بودم که قدم‌هایی رو به جلو بردارم، اما ناگهان ……

آری من همانم که می خواستم باعث آبادانی کشورم باشم .من همانم که در شبهای بی برقی ‌کابل با نور شمع درس خواندم . آری من همانم که حالا طالبان خانه به خانه ،شروع به جستجوی کرده اند .همانی هستم که در گوشه ای از خانه کز کرده ام و به انتظار نشسته ام . شاید منتظر معجزه هستم . منتظرم تا هر زمانی که بر در خانه ام کوبیدند در را به رویشان باز کنم .بارها این صحنه ها را در ذهنم تصور کرده ام ،اگر درب را باز کنم چه خواهم گفت ،چه خواهم کرد . بارها تصور کرده ام که بر صورتشان سیلی زده ام . یا برایشان از سختی هایی که تا به امروز کشیده ام می گویم و آنها را تصور می‌کنم که چای شان را می نوشند و به صحبت‌هایم گوش می دهند .گاهی تصور می کنم از موهایم گرفته و مرا کشان کشان از این خیابان به آن خیابان می چرخانند تا درس عبرتی باشم برای دیگران .یکی دیگر از تصوراتم این بود که به عقد یکی از آنها در آمده ام  ،اما توانسته ام طرز فکر او را تغییر دهم و او را به مردی حامی حقوق زنان و حامی حقوق انسانی تبدیل کرده ام . نمی دانم چه کنم ولی این را مطمئنم که از دستشان فرار نمی کنم .این را مطمئنم که بر سرشان فریاد خواهم کشید و در مقابلشان سر خم نخواهم کرد .شاید با اولین فریاد صدایم را خفه کردند . همه چیز نا معلوم است و این ذهن پریشان من است که خیالها می بافد .من سالها به امید پیشرفت افغانستان،سرزمین مادری ام بوده ام و تمام آنچه در بالا خواندید زائیده ذهن من بود. ذهن دختری که زاده ی والدینی افغان است ولی هرگز افغانستان را ندیده و در آن کشور نزیسته است . آری اینها زاییده ی ذهن مهدیه است که تنها لحظه ای خود را به جای دختری که اکنون در افغانستان زندگی می کند ،تصور کردم .زمانی که به خود آمدم متوجه شدم حتی با تصور آن اتفاقات، پاهایم را داخل شکمم جمع کرده ام و ترسی در گوشه دلم خانه کرده است .گوشه ی تختم کز کرده ام و زانوهایم را در بغل گرفته ام و تمام وجودم را لرزشی نا محسوس فرا گرفته است. چه کردند این وحشیان با ما که حالا من فرسنگها دورتر از آنها تنها با خواندن اخبار ،ترس و وحشت در من رخنه کرده است. چه کردند آنها با مادرم که بعد از ده ها ترک وطن هنوز ترسی در درونش است که از فرسنگها دورتر از افغانستان با من در تماس می شود و از من می خواهد که مطلبی درباره طالبان و وحشی گری شان ننویسم، زیرا که او هنوز می ترسد، این ترس سالهاست که با اوست. با زنان و دختران ما چه کردند .همه ما می دانیم که دنیای سیاست دنیای رو راست و قابل اعتمادی نیست . همه چیز مثل یک فیلم از قبل سناریو اش نوشته شده بود .چطور مردانی عجیب که گویی از عصر حجر به داخل افغانستان پرتاب شده اند ،می‌توانند بر کشور مسلط شوند. مردانی اسلحه بدست که همچون کودکان از دیدن شهربازی ذوق زده می شوند و یا با دیدن سالن ورزشی از خوشحالی پا بر زمین می کوبند. آنها که هستند و کجا پرورش یافته و آموزش دیده اند ؟

Soil is soil… And God did not set a price for the earth when He made man! He did not even set the boundaries with His own hands for His servants to live in.

Indeed, He does not discriminate between His servants and He loves them deeply. But we are human … We set the borders, we judge by skin color, we consider that dignity is based on geographical locations. In order to gain more land, we launch wars and use such violence that can displace a whole nation. And in the end, it is these actions that make people like me homeless…

Maybe there is actually a better place to live than our war-torn and devastated countries, but… I wish people could understand how hard and difficult is the way to find a new place to live. And how the smell of alienation on the self-made borders of human beings reaches a refugee! I wish the kindness of people was different, another kind of kindness. I wish that instead of naming one day of the year for refugees, they would have a kind heart like God and would not put a price to what God gave us for free. I wish we were not forced to become refugees …

مرزهای انسان ساخته

خاک، خاک است

و خداوند زمانی که زمین را جایگاه انسان قرار داد، برای آن قیمتی مشخص نکرد

و یا حتی با دستانش خط و مرزی برای زیستن بندگان تعیین نکرد

براستی که او میان بندگانش فرقی نمی گذارد و آنها را عمیقا دوست دارد

اما

انسان است دیگر

خط و مرز میگذارد،

از روی رنگ پوست قضاوت میکند،

شأن و منزلت را بر پایه ی موقعیت جغرافیایی می داند،

برای بدست آوردن خاک بیشتر جنگ و خشونت به راه می اندازد و یک ملت را آواره می کند

و در نهایت عده ای مانند من را بی خانه و کاشانه می سازد

شاید در واقع مکانی بهتر از کشورهای جنگ زده و ویران ما برای زیستن وجود داشته باشد اما

کاش درک این را داشته باشند که برای یافتنِ مکانی جدید که بتوان در آن زندگی کرد،

راهی به چه اندازه سخت و دشوار وجود دارد.

و چه اندازه بوی غریبگی در مرز های خود ساخته ی انسانها به مشام یک پناهنده می رسد

کاش مهربانی این انسانها از جنسی دیگر بود

کاش به جای بر نام کردن یک روز از سال بخاطر یک پناهنده؛

از همان ابتدا، قلبی مهربان مانند خدا داشتند و قیمت بر سر زمین خالق نمی گذاشتند

کاش ما را پناهنده نمی ساختند

I am a refugee. My parents are refugees. My brothers and sisters are also refugees. My grandparents were also refugees. We are a generation that has been carrying the burden of being a refugee for many years.

On some days, this burden becomes heavy and forcing us to bend our backs, but we straighten up again and continue on our way. It’s been years since I found out that there was a day called Refugee Day. I did not know back in those years if I should celebrate this day and be happy about it or if I should mourn and be sad. Years have passed since the days when I returned to my home crying from school just because my classmates called me a refugee.

Years have passed since I blamed my parents for migrating. Years have passed since the days when I chose to hide my refugee status from others. But it took me years to realize that being a refugee was not a crime. It took me years to realize that being a refugee was not the fault of my parents. It took me years to learn not to be ashamed of being a refugee, but to be proud of it. Because I had the power to move on knowing all the problems and hardships, to take all the difficult paths, to give up all attachments, to give up my home and my memories. The path that I may be able to enjoy like a normal human being.

Now, as a refugee, I know that Refugee Day is a day to raise awareness of the plight of migrants to the world. Being a refugee made me stronger. The path I take to achieve my goals is much longer and harder than the path that non-refugees take. Being a refugee means being under a magnifying glass. Being a refugee means that whenever a crime occurs in the host country, the first fingers will point at you. Being a refugee means feeling embarrassed when you are sitting on a subway or bus seat and someone from the host country wants to tell you something with his eyes. Being a refugee means not being allowed to choose your own appearance or turning a blind eye to some of your dreams and goals if you insist on the appearance that you want. Being a refugee means checking the asylum laws every day. Laws that change every day, every hour. Being a refugee means forcing a child to stay away from his or her parents or vice versa. Sometimes being a refugee is also a pleasure to be received in the host community. Being a refugee means the opportunity to meet different people, different cultures. Being a refugee made me a different character. Being a refugee is an inseparable part of my life.

!من یک پناهنده هستم

من یک پناهنده هستم . والدینم پناهنده هستند . خواهران و برادرانم هم پناهنده هستند . پدربزرگان و مادربزرگانم نیز پناهنده بودند . ما نسلی هستیم که بار پناهنده بودن را سالهاست با خود به دوش می کشیم . یک روزهایی این بار سنگین می شود و کمر خم می کنیم اما دوباره قامت راست کرده و به راهمان ادامه می دهیم . از زمانی که متوجه شدم روزی به نام پناهنده وجود دارد، سالها میگذرد . آن سالها نمی‌دانستم که باید این روز را جشن بگیرم و خوشحال باشم یا باید سوگواری کنم و ناراحت باشم . سالها از روزهایی که گریان از مدرسه به خانه برمیگشتم تنها به این دلیل که همکلاسی هایم مرا پناهنده خوانده اند، میگذرد. سالها از روزهایی که پدر و مادرم را به دلیل مهاجرتشان  سرزنش کرده ام ،می‌گذرد. سالها از روزهایی که پناهنده بودنم را از دیگران مخفی میکردم، میگذرد . اما سالها گذشت تا متوجه شدم پناهنده بودن ،جرم نیست . سالها گذشت تا بفهمم که پناهنده بودنم اشتباه پدر و مادرم نبوده است . سالها گذشت تا یاد گرفتم از پناهنده بودنم خجالت نکشم ، بلکه به آن افتخار کنم زیرا این قدرت را داشتم که با دانستن تمام مشکلات و سختی ها، مسیرهای صعب العبور، دل کندن از تمام وابستگی ها، دل کندن از خانه و خاطراتم حرکت کنم در مسیری که شاید بتوانم مانند یک انسان معمولی از حق و حقوق برخوردار باشم . حالا من به عنوان یک پناهنده این را می‌دانم که روز پناهنده روزی برای آگاهی رسانی نسبت به وضعیت مهاجرین به جهانیان است. پناهنده بودن باعث شد که قوی تر شوم .مسیری که من برای رسیدن به هدف هایم می‌گذرانم بسی طولانی تر و سخت تر از مسیری است که غیر پناهنده ها می گذرانند . پناهنده بودن یعنی زیر ذره بین بودن ،پناهنده بودن یعنی هر زمانی که جرمی در کشور میزبان اتفاق افتاد اولین اشاره ها به سوی تو خواهد بود . پناهنده بودن یعنی احساس معذب بودن زمانی که روی صندلی مترو و یا اتوبوس نشسته ای و یک نفر از کشور میزبان با نگاهش می خواهد چیزی به تو بگوید . پناهنده بودن یعنی اجازه انتخاب پوشش خود را نداشتن و یا اگر خواهان پوشش مورد قبول خود هستی چشم بستن بر روی بعضی رویاها و هدفهایت. پناهنده بودن یعنی هر روز چک کردن قوانین پناهندگی که هر روز و هر ساعت در حال تغییر است . پناهنده بودن یعنی دوری اجباری فرزند از پدر و مادر و یا بالعکس. بعضی اوقات پناهنده بودن لذت پذیرفتن در جامعه میزبان را نیز دارد . پناهنده بودن یعنی فرصت آشنایی با آدم‌های مختلف ،فرهنگهای متفاوت. پناهنده بودن از من شخصیت دیگری  ساخت . پناهنده بودن قسمتی جدا نشدنی از زندگی من شده است

The Greek government has decided to close some refugee camps. This decision has caused a great deal of controversy in the camps.

The expulsion of migrants from the camps takes Greece back to 2015, when the country was not ready to accept migrants and people were wandering around the city. At that time, this tragedy was acceptable because all European countries were facing a wave of migrants but now,  after five years, it seems Greece still has no plans to integrate refugees.

Closing central camps and sending refugees to remote ones does not solve the problem. Refugees are left on their own after receiving asylum in Greece during these years and are still not integrated into society. If after receiving asylum their abilities were recognized and someone invested in their talents, the situation would be very different. We also agree to close the camps! Because we believe that asylum seekers and refugees should not be imprisoned in camps for a long time and should live within the society. However, now we have to oppose this event because we know that in the world outside of there is no job waiting for them to be able to rent a place to live and, unfortunately, there are less opportunities to learn the Greek language to be able to meet their basic needs and be able to stand on their own feet. We believe that if they do not find a job or a place to sleep in a country where the unemployment rate is above 20%, their first choice will surely be to live in Victoria Square and other main squares of the city of Athens. If they cannot find food to eat, how long can they let their children be hungry?  In this case, there will be the possibility of any wrongdoing, including theft, prostitution, etc. Next to that, there will be a good platform for other people to take advantage of them both locals and third-country nationals because people know how vulnerable refugees are. Surely all of this will have a negative impact on Greek society. Why after five long years there is still no education for refugees in order for them to be able to integrate faster?

Many migrants that currently live in Greece have good professions and jobs and, in the case they get a job, we can safely say that they can contribute to the financial prosperity of Greece, but only if the government and the policymakers get things right. Provide for refugees; do not create chaos in migrant communities and then in European societies by adopting hasty and one-time laws.

‌And this time, by closing down the camps and cutting off the financial support, in addition to confusing thousands of people and lead them to demonstrations, will also hit hard the medical staff if these rallies continue. Again, five years after the arrival of asylum seekers and refugees in Greece, this situation should not be acceptable! When will the necessary preparations for the reception of refugees in Greece take place? Five more years?

 Some reports suggest that the government has decided to cut off the financial support of people living outside of government-controlled camps, hotels, and shelters. Now the question is, what changes has the government made regarding the law on the integration of migrants and job creation in Greek society when it’s constantly changing its decisions? If we’d focus enough on this phenomenon, we will realize that the arrival of asylum seekers created hundreds, even thousands of job positions in Greek society. While some people are not even willing to rent their homes to refugees and migrants, many people leave their jobs due to the Covid-19 outbreak. How can one expect migrants to evacuate their homes and camps despite repeated quarantines and the impossibility of finding a flat to rent? Has the Greek government provided working conditions for refugees and did not appreciate the outcome? Have they just shrugged their shoulders ?! I do not want to judge one-sidedly, of course there are refugees who do not seek work and self-development, but in this case, 80% of the refugees who are expelled from the camps are women, children, and the vulnerable.

Are evacuating the camps and sending migrants to camps far from the city center, which makes it more difficult for them to access educational and medical centers, signs of integrating migrants into the host community?!! Or maybe there are signs that show a community’s opposition to the presence of migrants?! And all these events will affect both communities, both the host community and the migrant community. Despite these conditions, the integration of migrants in the host society is done faster ?!

شامل شدن در یک جامعه برای شما به چه معناست؟

دولت یونان تصمیم به بستن بعضی از کمپهای مهاجرین گرفته است .این تصمیم جنجالهای فراوانی را در کمپها به پا کرده است .

اخراج مهاجرین از کمپ ها، یونان را دوباره به سال ۲۰۱۵برمیگرداند،زمانی که آمادگی پذیرش مهاجرین را نداشت و مردم در سطح شهر سرگردان بودند در آن زمان این فاجعه قابل پذیرش بود زیرا همه کشورهای اروپایی با موجی از مهاجر مواجه بودند اما در حال حاضر بعد از گذشت پنج سال هنوز یونان هیچ برنامه ای برای ادغام مهاجران ندارد؟

با بستن کمپها و فرستادن مهاجرین به کمپهایی دور افتاده مشکلات حل نمی شود زیرا مهاجرین در طی این سالها  بعد از دریافت پناهندگی از یونان به حال خود رها شدند و آماده ادغام در جامعه نشده اند .اگر بعد از دریافت پناهندگی توانایی هایشان شناخته میشد ،بر استعدادهایشان سرمایه‌گذاری میشد ‌ ،ایجاد شغل و کاریابی در جامعه صورت می گرفت ما نیز یکی از موافقین بستن کمپها بودیم چون بر این باور داریم که مهاجرین نباید برای مدت زمان طولانی در کمپ‌ها زندانی باشند و باید در جامعه پذیرفته شوند اما در حال حاضر یکی از مخالفین این رویداد هستیم  زیرا می دانیم بیرون از دنیای کمپ شغلی در انتظار آنها نیست تا بتوانند محلی برای زندگی خود اجاره کنند و متاسفانه زبان یونانی را فرا نگرفته اند که بتوانند نیازهای اولیه خود را برطرف کنند .مخالفیم چون باور داریم اگر شغل و محل خوابی پیدا نکنند در کشوری که نرخ بیکاری بالای ۲۰درصد است ،مطمئنا اولین گزینه انتخابی آنها در آتن پارک ویکتوریا و دیگر میادین اصلی شهر برای زندگی میباشد ،اگر غذایی برای خوردن پیدا نکنند تا چه زمانی می‌توانند جوابگوی فرزندان گرسنه خود باشند پس در این صورت امکان هر گونه خلافی از جمله دزدی و تن فروشی و … وجود خواهد داشت و در کنار آن بستر مناسبی برای دیگر دزدان یونانی به وجود می آید زیرا مردم تمام این اتفاقات را از وجود مهاجر می دانند و مطمئنا تمام اینها تاثیرات منفی بر جامعه یونان خواهد داشت .چرا بعد از  پنج سال فقط تعداد کمی برنامه  برای ادغام مهاجرین وجود دارد تا بتوانند سریعتر در جامعه ادغام شوند ؟

مهاجرینی که در حال حاضر در یونان حضور دارند بیشتر آنها دارای حرفه ها و شغلهای خوبی هستند که اگر برای آنها ایجاد شغل صورت گیرد به جرات میتوانیم بگوییم ،حتی می‌توانند به رونق اقتصادی یونان نیز کمک کنند اما، در صورتی که دولتمردان و سیاستگذاران شرایط را برای مهاجرین مهیا کنند نه اینکه با اتخاذ قوانین عجولانه و یکباره باعث ایجاد هرج و مرج در جوامع پناهجویی و بعد از آن در جوامع اروپایی شوند .

‌و این  بار با بستن کمپها و قطع کارت پول مهاجرین با سرگردانی و مشکلات زیادی روبرو خواهند شد . باز هم نیاز است که بگوییم بعد از گذشت ۵ سال از ورود مهاجرین به یونان ،این بار این سرگردانی قابل قبول نخواهد بود!چه زمانی آمادگی لازم برای پذیرش مهاجرین در یونان اتفاق خواهد افتاد؟پنج سال دیگر؟

بعضی از خبرها حاکی از این است  دولت تصمیم به قطع کارت پول افرادی گرفته که در خارج از کمپها و هتلها و خانه های تحت نظارت دولت زندگی می کنند. حالا سوال این است، دولت چه تغییراتی در قوانین ادغام مهاجرین و ایجاد شغل در جامعه یونان به وجود آورده که مدام در حال تغییر تصمیمات است ؟! تنها کافی است کمی به اطرافمان دقت کنیم که متوجه شویم ورود مهاجرین زمینه ساز ایجاد صدها شغل در جامعه یونان شد در حالی که بعضی از مردم حتی حاضر به اجاره دادن خانه خود به مهاجرین نیستند ،بسیاری از مردم به دلیل شیوع کرونا مشاغل خود را از دست داده اند، چگونه می توان توقع داشت که با وجود قرنطینه های پیاپی و بسته بودن بنگاههای مسکن ،مهاجرین باید خانه ها و کمپها را تخلیه کنند .آیا دولت یونان شرایط کاری برای مهاجرین مهیا کرده و آنها قدر این فرصت را ندانسته اند واز زیر بار کار شانه خالی کرده اند ؟! نمی خواهم یکطرفه قضاوت کنم ،البته که هستند مهاجرینی که جویای کارو پیشرفت و فعالیت نیستند،اما ۸۰ درصد مهاجرینی که از کمپها بیرون رانده شده اند را زنان و کودکان و قشر آسیب پذیر تشکیل می دهند.

آیا تخلیه کردن کمپها و فرستادن مهاجرین به کمپهایی دور از مرکز شهرکه امکان دسترسی آنها به مراکز آموزشی و درمانی را سخت‌تر می کند ،نشانه هایی برای ادغام مهاجرین در جامعه میزبان است ؟!! یا شاید هم نشانه هایی است که اعلام مخالفت جامعه ای از حضور مهاجرین را نشان می دهد ؟! آیا با وجود این شرایط ادغام مهاجرین در جامعه میزبان سریع تر انجام می شود؟! تمام این وقایع هر دو جامعه ، جامعه میزبان و جامعه مهاجر را تحت تاثیر قرار خواهد داد.

The Greek Forum of Refugees is witnessing with great disappointment the decisions and the events that transpired the last few months in Greece regarding migration issues.

Above all, we are concerned with the outcomes of these decisions and the events that took place recently, which ended up with several asylum seekers losing their lives for various reasons that connect clearly, however, with violations of human rights.

Our main mission, as always, is to strive for the holistic inclusion of refugees & migrants in Greek society by respecting both the rights and obligations of the migrant population. This noble cause, however, is still miles away from its realization. One would expect that after six (6) years of handling migration flows, Greece would have reached a point of possessing a concrete integration process and refined its approach regarding human rights.

Instead, we witness an abrupt cut of the financial support that recognized refugees that do not reside in formal state structures receive from the 1st of July onwards; an act that would only make sense if the people faced with this reality would’ve already been integrated and capable of providing for themselves. We witness the will to close down several well-established central camps, relocating the population to isolated ones in the countryside and obstructing in effect their access to education, health services, legal services, and NGO support. We witness a large amount of alleged pushbacks that the country is accused of that, if the accusations stand, we are confronted with a serious violation of the right of applying for international protection.

Last, but not least, we witness consequent deaths of asylum seekers like the ones of Macky Diabete from Guinea and the young man from Somalia (his name not yet disclosed) that died under horrible conditions and, in the case of the latter, found covered with rodents eating his flesh. Access to health, in addition to mental health, is an indisputable human right that so far we fail to address as a society and a democratic State. Instead of observing sound arguments of what can be done in order to avoid these kinds of situations in the future, we receive from the media details that attack the decency of the deceased; he/she was an alcoholic, he/she gave false details of their condition in several cases etc) which in itself constitutes a human rights violation. 

At this point, it is imperative for us to mention that the High Court of Germany actually takes under consideration the return cases of refugees back to Greece, under the factual fear of further human rights violations and ruled that if these individuals are to be sent back to Greece they would provide financial support in order for them to provide for their own.

It is our strong belief that the European policies have created these conditions and rendered Greece a “prison of lost souls”. Thus, we firmly believe that the only solution is for the country to take things in its hands and provide a viable and sustainable integration process simultaneously respecting human rights; it is the only beneficial solution for the Greek society and the refugee & migrant population. Bringing refugees and migrants to the decision table and forming a common path of integration will immediately resolve most of these sorrowful situations and actually make the best out of them. Integration cannot be achieved in isolated camps. Inclusion cannot be achieved with attacks on the decency of people that have already lost everything. The time to act was yesterday. There is still time, however, to turn things around for the sake of democracy, for the sake of everything we believe in.

These days we are witnessing the #Metoo movement in Greece. A movement that started as early as 2017 in other countries and exposed many cases of sexual abuse,

and now the wave of this movement has finally reached Greece.

I decided to join this movement as a migrant woman living in Greece and that has experienced her own share of sexual harassment, in order to become one with the voices of hundreds of women who were sexually abused in camps, on the streets, in hospitals, and in every other place imaginable.

Hundreds of migrant women and girls were raped during their journeys but because our culture dictates to us not to talk about such misfortunes and our elders repeatedly tell us “Hush! Girls do not yell” their voices have been forever silenced.

I will start with the camps, with the young girls who were raped in the camps, but no one ever heard their screams.  I will start with the unborn child that was silenced due to purposeful miscarriage. From the girls who committed suicide, but no one understood or asked why they decided to proceed to such an act.

Or should I start with the aggressors who disappeared at once after abusing these women, to be found later on in other countries with colourful social media photos, not concerned in the slightest about the plight of the girls?

Should I talk about the food distributor? The man repeatedly touched and stroked their bodies without permission while they waited in line for hours for a piece of bread? About the women who were not allowed to talk about what happened there and had no other choice than to protest by not eating?

Or should I mention the abuse of the doctor who starts touching the girl’s body in irrelevant places regarding her condition under various pretexts? A doctor who has the same age as the girl’s father and actually diagnosed that marrying him is the only way to cure the disease.

What about that girl who had gone to the doctor for a treatment for her illness, but not only did she not understand anything from the doctor’s words and the incessant touch of her body but her soul was marked forever after that incident? Does anyone care about why she prefers to die rather than seeing a male doctor again? That girl opened her heart to me and explained what had happened to her and now it seems that her fear has penetrated into my being as well.  The girl said her whole body was frozen, she could not even take a step. There is no sound to her scream. She repeatedly blames herself for not saying something when it happened. Why did she not protest? And the scenes of that day are perpetually playing like a movie in her mind.

The victims of these rapes and sexual abuses should not blame themselves. These incidents were not their fault. However, in several cases, we encounter the phrase “you are to blame”. If you did not smile, this would not have happened to you.  If you did not wear short skirts or if you did not wear scarves and a thousand of ifs’ and buts’.  Know this, it was never your fault.

Victims of sexual harassment are not always women, but according to statistics, the perpetrators of sexual harassment are mostly men.  And the question I am looking for an answer for is this; How come every woman knows another woman that was raped but no man knows a rapist?

I wrote this to say that you do not have to be a famous person or an actor to raise your voice against sexual harassment.  Do not remain silent in the face of sexual and verbal violence because your silence allows the aggressor to continue what he is doing. And you will never know who the next victims might be, they could be your sisters or your daughters next time. 

هیس، دخترها فریاد نمی زنند ۲۷/۳/۲۰۲۱

این روزها شاهد جنبش ، #Metoo در یونان هستیم. جنبشی که از اوایل سال 2017 در کشورهای دیگر آغاز شد و بسیاری از سوء استفاده های جنسی را برملا کرد و اکنون موج این جنبش به یونان رسیده است.

 من تصمیم گرفتم به عنوان یک زن مهاجر ساکن یونان به این جنبش ملحق شوم تا صدای صدها زن مهاجری شوم که در اردوگاه ها ، خیابان ها و بیمارستان ها و یا در هر مکان دیگری که تصور کنید ، مورد  سوءاستفاده جنسی قرار گرفته اند .

 صدها زن و دختر مهاجر در طول سفر خود مورد تجاوز قرار گرفتند اما به دلیل اینکه فرهنگ ما به ما حکم می کند در مورد چنین مصائبی صحبت نکنیم و بزرگان ما بارها و بارها به ما می گویند “هیس! دخترها فریاد نمی زنند.” صدای آنها برای همیشه خاموش شده است.

 من از کمپها شروع می کنم ، از دختران جوانی که در اردوگاه ها مورد تجاوز قرار گرفتند ، اما هیچ کس نباید  فریاد آنها را می شنید. من از کودک متولد نشده ای که صدایش به دلیل سقط جنین در نطفه خفه شد ، شروع می کنم.  از دخترانی که بعد از سواستفاده جنسی ، دست به خودکشی زدند  اما هیچ کس نفهمید و نپرسید که چرا تصمیم گرفته اند که دست به چنین عملی بزنند.

 یا باید شروع کنم با متجاوزانی که پس از آزار و اذیت این دختران به یکباره ناپدید شدند و بعدها سر و کله شان از دیگر کشورها با عکس های رنگارنگ در شبکه های اجتماعی پیدا می  شد، و از حال زار دختران خبر نداشتند؟

 آیا باید در مورد توزیع کننده غذا صحبت کنم؟   از مردی که بارها و بارها بدون اجازه بدن  دختران را لمس و نوازش می کرد در حالی که آنها ساعت ها در صف غذا می ایستادند برای یک تکه نان ؟ دختری که بعد از آن تصمیم گرفت گشنه بماند ولی برای گرفتن غذا به صف نرود. دختری که اجازه فریاد زدن نداشت و اعتراضش را با نخوردن غذا اعلام می کرد .

 یا باید به سوء استفاده پزشکی که به بهانه های مختلف بدن دختر را در مکان های غیرمرتبط با وضعیت او لمس می کرد ، اشاره کنم.  پزشکی که هم سن پدر دختر بود و در واقع ازدواج با  خودش را  تنها راه درمان بیماری دختر می داند.

 دختری که برای معالجه بیماری خود به دکتر مراجعه کرده بود ، اما نه تنها چیزی از سخنان دکتر و لمس بی وقفه بدنش نفهمید ، بلکه روح او برای همیشه پس از آن واقعه بیمار شد ؟  آیا برای  کسی مهم است که چرا آن دختر  ترجیح می دهد بمیرد تا اینکه دوباره به پزشک مرد مراجعه کند؟  آن دختر قلبش را به روی من باز کرد و توضیح داد که چه اتفاقی برای او افتاده است و حالا احساس می کنم  ترس او به وجود من نیز رخنه کرده است.  دختر گفت تمام بدنش یخ زده بود  ، حتی نمی توانسته یک قدم بردارد.   حتی صدایش نیز در گلو خفه شده بود.  او بارها و بارها خود را سرزنش می کند که وقتی  آن اتفاق افتاده چرا چیزی نگفته.  چرا اعتراض نکرده ؟  و صحنه های آن روز دائماً مانند یک فیلم در ذهن او پخش می شود.

 قربانیان این تجاوزها و آزارهای جنسی نباید خود را مقصر بدانند. هیچکدام از این  حوادث تقصیر آنها نبوده و نیست .  با این حال ، در بعضی موارد ، ما با عبارت “خودت مقصری” روبرو می شویم.  اگر لبخند نمی زدید ، این اتفاق نمی افتاد.  اگر دامن کوتاه نمی پوشیدید ، اگر روسری به سر نمی کردید و هزاران اگر و اما دیگر .  اما باید بدانید که هرگز تقصیر شما نبوده است.

 قربانیان آزار و اذیت جنسی همیشه زن نیستند ، اما طبق آمار عاملین آزار جنسی در بیشتر موارد مرد هستند.  و سوالی که بدنبال جواب  آن هستم این است، چرا هر زنی زن دیگری را که مورد تجاوز قرار گرفته است می شناسد اما هیچ مردی ،مرد متجاوز را نمی شناسد؟

اینها را نوشتم تا بگویم حتماً نباید آدم معروفی باشید یا بازیگر و چهره سرشناسی باشید تا صدایت را در برابر آزارهای جنسی بلند کنید.  در برابر خشونتها و آزارهای جنسی و کلامی سکوت اختیار نکنید ، زیرا شما  با سکوتتان  به متجاوز اجازه ادامه دادن می دهید  و شما  نمی دانید ، ممکن است که قربانی بعدی خواهران و دختران شما باشند .

A three-year-old girl, unconscious, lying in the mud outside the Karatepe camp toilet. This is my impression of what happened yesterday at the Karatepe camp.

For several moments, these scenes and the idea of ​​the girl lying where she was found stuck in  my mind. Some news sources report the rape of this girl. But even if there was no rape, which one of you would like to see your three-year-old daughter in this situation? And shame on the day the rape case is proven. The childhood of a little girl which could have been the best days of her life is lost forever in a hell called Karatepe or the former Moria. Until the main reason for this incident and whether or not the rape is proven, the girl and her family will start witnessing the help of various organizations that are now operating there. They will surely give a lot of toys to the girl. Because now they properly understand how vulnerable she is, if it wasn’t for the incident they wouldn’t do anything for her. Definitely, after proving the rape in the next few days, one of the European countries will come forward with pride and loudly announce that they will bring this girl and her family as refugees to their country. “We’ll bring them back home with us, tickets are issued for them already”. After all, they are now among the most vulnerable families, without any doubt, and deserve to be hosted in European countries. But why do not they not realize that this is not the first young child in that camp that went through this experience and it is not the last either. This problem must be solved from the root. The news of Moria is becoming more and more tragic, day after day, which entails that the people who have been kept in these closed camps on the island for a long time are suffering from terrible mental and psychological problems.

The psychological consequences of everything that has happened to the refugees in the camps will affect their lives for years and sometimes forever. Three years have passed since the days I lived in the camp. But sometimes the nightmares of those nights are with me and my family. It is hard for me to imagine the young child and her family. Oh, Politicians you who are always on the scene, who do you want to take the blame for this, this time? Are you going to arrest and imprison the child’s parents, like you did a while ago when a child drowned in the sea, trying to cross the borders? If a rape happened or is often happening, whom will you blame?

For how long are we going to sit and witness all of the horrible events that take place in the Greek camps? Who is to blame for these events? Migrants? A country that does not have the ability to protect and take care of so many migrants? Or the European Commission and the European Union, as a whole, that instead of taking the right decisions, just want to keep the migrants in these godforsaken camps by sending huge sums of money to Greece? And it is only after every tragic event that has taken place that the EU member states each accept a few hundred asylum seekers. If they can prove, without a doubt, that they are vulnerable that is….

مقصر کیست ؟

دخترکی سه ساله ، بیهوش ، افتاده در گل و لای بیرون از توالتی در کمپ کاراتپه. این تصورات من از حادثه ای است که دیروز در کمپ کاراتپه اتفاق افتاده بود. از دیروز لحظه ای این صحنه ها و تصور دخترک از ذهنم بیرون نمیرود.

بعضی منابع خبری از تجاوز به این دختر خبر می دهند. اما اگر حتی تجاوزی هم رخ نداده باشد ،شما دوست دارید دختر سه ساله تان را با این وضعیت ببینید، و ننگ به روزی که قضیه تجاوز ثابت شود.کودکی دختر بچه که می توانست بهترین روزهای زندگی اش باشد درجهنمی به نام کاراتپه یا همان موریای سابق بر باد رفته است.

تا دلیل اصلی این اتفاق و اینکه تجاوزی رخ داده یا نه ثابت شود ، دختر و خانواده اش شاهد کمک سازمانهای مختلف که حالا به تکاپو افتاده اند ، خواهند بود .حتما برای دخترک اسباب بازیهای فراوانی خواهند داد. همیشه همینطور بوده تا آسیبی نبینی ،برایت کاری نمی کنند .حتما با اثبات تجاوز تا چند روز آینده یکی از کشورهای اروپایی با غرور به میدان خواهد آمد و بلند و رسا اعلام خواهد کرد که ما این دختر وخانواده اش را به عنوان پناهنده به کشور خود می آوریم ،برایشان بلیط صادر می شود . بالاخره حالا جز خانواده های آسیب پذیر قرار گرفته اند و مستحق تقسیم بندی در کشورهای اروپایی هستند . اما چرا نمی خواهید بفهمید که این اولین دختر آن کمپ نبوده و آخرین شان هم نیست .باید این مشکل از ریشه حل شود . اخبار موریا (۲) روز به روز فجیع تر می شود و این بدان معناست که مردمانی که در کمپهای بسته جزیره برای مدت زمان طولانی نگه داشته شده اند با مشکلات روحی و روانی وحشتناکی دست به گریبان هستند.

عواقب روانی تمام اتفاقاتی که در کمپها برای مهاجرین افتاده است تا سالها و بعضاً تا همیشه در زندگی آنها تاثیر خواهد گذاشت . سه سال از روزهایی که در کمپ زندگی می کردم می گذرد،اما هنوز هم بعضی اوقات کابوس آن شبها با من و خانواده ام است .تصور حال دخترک وخانواده اش نیز برایم سخت است.

سیاستمداران همیشه در صحنه ، این بار مسئولیت این اتفاق را به گردن چه کسی می خواهید بندازید؟ آیا باز هم پدر و مادر کودک را دستگیر و زندانی می کنید ؟ اگر تجاوزی رخ داده باشد و یا رخ بدهد چه کسی مقصر آن خواهد بود ؟ تا چه زمانی شاهد اتفاقات وحشتناک در کمپهای یونان خواهیم بود ؟ چه کسی مقصر این وقایع است ؟

مهاجرین ؟ کشوری که توانایی محافظت و رسیدگی به این تعداد از مهاجر را ندارد ؟ یا پارلمان و اتحادیه اروپا که به جای گرفتن یک تصمیم درست ،فقط با فرستادن پولهای هنگفت از یونان می خواهد مهاجرین را در کمپها نگه دارد؟

 و تازه درد آور تر آنجاست که بعد از هر اتفاق تلخی که رخ  می دهد کشورهای عضو اتحادیه اروپا هر کدام چند صد نفری را در صورت آسیب پذیر بودن به پناهندگی قبول می کنند.

After a few days of heavy rain and the tents in the Karatepe camp flooded once again. Yesterday we saw miserable images on various media platforms depicting

the situation of the people living in these flooded tents. Seeing those images was something many people could not believe. Even more when they realize this camp is situated also in a corner of Europe. But what really shocked everyone was the discovery of an unexploded ordnance in front of one of the tents. Meanwhile, the Greek government has been repeatedly warned by well known INGOs & NGOs along with other various relevant actors about the toxicity of the land the camp is situated upon and the contamination of the soil in that area with lead and the existence of mines. All this, however, has been ignored by the government. What you saw in yesterday’spictures (idle ordnance) that shook you for a moment did not take place in war-torn countries like Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq, but in the (heart) of Europe. This mine was exactly like  the ammunition and weapons of war that we escaped from, and in search of security, we embarked on a journey in which we experienced death many times.

And here, we still feel insecure. Idle ordnance is buried right next to our tents where we spend our days and nights. A mine that even the police were afraid to approach for hours. They were rightfully scared, but do they really expect us not to be afraid of mines and if so why? Is it because we were born in war and we have no right to be afraid since we are used to these things? They were born in peace so they can be afraid of these things. This was not the first mine in the area and it is not the last. Both you and I know this well. And I have to fear the moment when one of these mines explodes under my feet or maybe when our children are playing. Sooner or later this will happen. Again, both you and I know this.

And then I do not know in which court to file a complaint against you. Oh you who hold a father responsible for the death of his son and arrest him, in which court should we address you for playing with the lives of 7,000 people in the Karatepe camp? Must one of these mines explode to turn the eyes and minds back to Karatepe? Like the fire that devastated Moria and woke up the European countries, forcing them to relocate  a number of migrants

If something is about to happen, the time has come. We have a proverb that says prevention is better than the cure. So isn’t it better to start preventing? Because treatment costs can be very expensive for both migrants and the host society.

 پیشگیری بهتر از درمان

 بعد از چند روز بارندگی شدید و زیر آب رفتن خیمه ها در  کمپ کاراتپه ، دیروز شاهد  تصاویر اسفباری از وضعیت مردم و خیمه ها و آبگرفتگی چادرها که در رسانه های مختلف نشر شد ،بودیم .این تصاویر،حتی تصور اینکه این کمپ هم در گوشه ای از اروپاست را برای خیلی ها غیرقابل باور کرده بود . اما آنچه باعث شک همگان شد ،پیدا شدن مینی عمل نشده در روبروی یکی از خیمه ها بود. در حالی که بارها سازمان های مردمی و ارگانهای مختلف درباره سمی بودن زمین کمپ و آلوده بودن خاک آن منطقه به سرب و وجود مین ،به دولت یونان هشدار داده بودند . اما تمام اینها توسط دولت نادیده گرفته شده بود .

آنچه که دیروز در تصاویر دیدید ( مین فعال) و لحظه ای لرزه بر جانتان انداخت در کشورهای جنگ زده ای چون افغانستان و سوریه و عراق نبود بلکه در دل اروپا بود. این مین نمونه ای از همان مهمات و ابزار جنگی بود که ما از آن گریختیم و در جستجوی امنیت راهی سفری شدیم که بارها مرگ را در آن تجربه کردیم . و حالا درست اینجا، در اروپا هم باید احساس ناامنی کنیم. مینهای عمل نشده درست در کنار خیمه هایمان است و ما شب و روز خود را در آن خیمه ها می گذرانیم. مین هایی که حتی پلیس تا ساعتها از نزدیک شدن به آن هراس داشت. آنها ترسیده بودند اما از ما انتظار داشتند که نترسیم .چرا ؟ زیرا ما در جنگ زاده شده ایم و حق ترسیدن نداریم و باید به این چیزها عادت کرده باشیم .اما آنها در صلح و امنیت به دنیا آمده اند و باید هم بترسند. این اولین مین در آن منطقه نبود و آخرین مین هم نیست . این را هم شما خوب می دانید و هم ما. و ما هر لحظه باید بیم آن را داشته باشیم که چه زمانی یکی از این مین ها در زیر پایمان منفجر خواهد شد. یا شاید هم زمانی که کودکانمان  در حال بازی هستند . دیر یا زود این اتفاق خواهد افتاد ! این را هم شما می دانید و هم ما. و دقیقا آن وقت است که ما نمی دانیم که شکایت از شما را به کجا ببریم . ای شمایی که پدری را مسئول مرگ فرزندش در آبهای یونان می دانید و او را دستگیر می‌کنید ،در کدام دادگاه از شما باید شکایت کنیم که با جان ۷۰۰۰ انسان که در کاراتپه زندگی می کنند، بازی می کنید ؟!!

حتما باید یکی از این مین ها منفجر شود تا دوباره چشمها و ذهنها به سوی کاراتپه معطوف شود؟! همچون آتشی که موریا را از بین برد و کشورهای اروپایی را از خواب بیدار و وادار به جابجایی تعدادی از مهاجرین کرد. اگر قرار است کاری انجام دهید ، حالا دقیقا زمان آن است . ما ضرب المثلی داریم که می گوید پیشگیری بهتر از درمان است. آیا بهتر نیست پیشگیری را از همین حالا شروع کنیم ؟! شاید هزینه های درمان چه برای ما مهاجرین و چه برای شما بسیار گران تمام شود.
